CECNet 2026 will take place in Sanya, international participants should be particularly aware of and careful about visas. Please plan your travel in advance and allow plenty of time to apply for a visa.

Notes:
1. The Conference Organizing Committee cannot issue visas to attend the conference but can issue an Invitation letter to assist with your visa application. If you need the Invitation letter from the conference, please send the following information to cecnet@cecnetconf.org:

• Nationality
• Date of Birth: (e.g. March 25, 1960)
• Passport No.:
• Your paper number if you are an author

2. Please note that an invitation letter will only be issued upon confirmation of registration and after full payment for registration fees has been received. Invitation letters are only issued via email in PDF format and will be sent within approximately one week after your information is received by the Organizing Committee.

3. Participants are highly recommended to apply for a Tourist Visa. The Organizing Committees can not issue any official letters of invitation for your visa application due to Chinese regulations.

Do I need a Chinese visa?
Usually most foreigners traveling to mainland China, whether for business or pleasure, require a visa. It's very difficult to obtain a Chinese port visa at the Chinese border entry points. However, some cities and regions of China are visa free in certain circumstances.

Who Can Enjoy Visa Exemption?
Foreign nationals traveling to Sanya, Hainan can take advantage of various visa-free policies, along with port visa and long-term visa options tailored to different entry purposes such as tourism, business, transit, and employment. The specific policies are as follows:

Their activity is restricted to the administrative region of Hainan Province for a maximum stay of 30 days.Those planning to travel to other parts of mainland China must apply for a visa or residence permit 7 days before the expiration of their stay.

The group must enter and exit China as a whole, with activity limited to Hainan Province.

(3) 15-Day Visa-Free Entry for Foreign Cruise Tour GroupsForeign tour groups (minimum 2 people) organized and received by domestic travel agencies, arriving by cruise ship, can enter via Sanya Cruise Port visa-free as a group.The maximum stay is 15 days. The group must travel with the same cruise ship itinerary until departure. Their activity scope can cover 11 coastal provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and Beijing.

3. Transit Visa-Free Policy
Citizens of 55 countries (including the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, etc.) holding valid international travel documents and confirmed onward tickets with fixed dates and seats, transiting through Sanya Phoenix International Airport to a third country or region, are eligible for a 240-hour transit visa-free stay. During this period, they can engage in activities such as tourism, business, and family visits, but are not allowed to work or study without prior approval. Their stay is restricted to the administrative region of Hainan Province.
